Background

Matt Commons (born 1990 or 1991) is a lifelong Hoosier serving his first term in the Indiana House of Representatives, having defeated incumbent Sharon Negele in the May 2024 Republican primary and won the general election in November 2024. He holds a B.A. from Purdue University and an M.A. from Liberty University, served in the U.S. Army from 2009 to 2014, and works as a high school teacher.
