Background

State Rep. Earl L. Harris Jr. represents House District 2 in Lake County (Gary and East Chicago area), first elected in November 2016. He is the son of the late State Rep. Earl Harris Sr. and former Rep. Donna Harris, making him part of a multi-generational political family. Harris serves as Assistant Democratic Floor Leader and ranking Democrat on the House Roads and Transportation Committee; he also sits on Ways and Means and Government and Regulatory Reform.
