Background
Timothy Wesco has represented House District 21, covering portions of Elkhart and St. Joseph counties in northern Indiana, since 2010, making him one of the longest-serving members of the current House caucus (Source 1). He was first elected at age 25 and currently serves as chair of the House Elections and Apportionment Committee and sits on the Natural Resources and Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications committees (Source 2). In addition to his legislative role, Wesco serves as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Elkhart and holds a BS in organizational management from Bethel College (Source 1). He ran uncontested in the 2026 Republican primary and previously won re-election in 2024 with 79.1% of the general-election vote (Source 2).

Fiscal responsibility
Strong supportWesco voted YES on SB 1 (2025), Indiana's major property tax relief package providing $1.3 billion in homeowner savings (Source 4). He voted YES on SB 1 (2026), the Medicaid/SNAP immigration verification and work-requirements bill (Source 5). The Freedom Index rates Wesco's cumulative pro-liberty score at 56%, with 67% in the 2023–24 session.
Limited government
MixedWesco voted YES on HB 1032 (2025 special session), the mid-cycle congressional redistricting bill that passed the House 57–41 with 11–12 Republicans dissenting; as committee chair he presided over and explicitly supported the bill's committee passage. The Freedom Index records 56% cumulative and 33% in 2021–22.
Second Amendment
Strong supportWesco was listed as a coauthor of HB 1296 (2022), constitutional carry, which repealed Indiana's handgun license requirement and was signed into law as Public Law 175 (Source 7). HB 1084 (2024), the 2A Privacy Act protecting firearms financial-transaction data, also lists Ethan Manning as coauthor but Wesco's individual vote was not separately called out in available records; no conflicting vote found (Source 6).

No public position foundSB 236 (2026), the abortion-inducing drug civil-liability ban, died in the House Public Health Committee and received no House floor vote; no individual House member vote on SB 236 is on the record.
