Background
Ray Collins is a Republican challenger running for the open HD-30 seat, which covers Howard County (Kokomo area). A lifelong Kokomo resident and Kokomo High School graduate, Collins spent 23 years working with youth at the Robert J. Kinsey Youth Center before graduating from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 2021 and becoming a police officer (Source 1). He was elected to the Kokomo Common Council in 2020 and served as Council President for four years, currently serving as Council Vice President (Source 2). Collins and his wife Stephanie have four children and three grandchildren (Source 1). His Facebook campaign page describes him as a "Christian Conservative Republican" committed to "faith guided values of integrity, service, accountability and a deep respect for life and liberty" (Source 4).
