Positions
Fiscal responsibility
SupportDeVon voted **Yes** on SB 1 (2025), the $1.3 billion property tax relief package (Source 5). He voted **Yes** on SB 1 (2026), the Medicaid/SNAP eligibility reform (Source 6). His IFI 2025 scorecard is 100% (Source 3), indicating consistent alignment with the conservative fiscal-reform agenda tracked by that organization.
Limited government
MixedDeVon voted **Yes** on HB 1032 (2026 Special Session), the mid-cycle redistricting bill (Source 7). However, his Freedom Index cumulative score is 50%, with 58% in 2023-2024 and 33% in 2021-2022. While he supports legislative priorities such as voter ID and DEI prohibition, he has also voted for bills the Freedom Index classifies as expanding government authority, including some utility and health measures. The mixed Freedom Index score warrants a `mixed` designation on limited government.
Second Amendment
Strong supportDeVon voted **Yes** on HB 1084 (2024), the 2A Privacy Act (Source 8). He voted **Yes** on HB 1296 (2022), the constitutional carry bill (Source 9). Both votes are consistent with supporting Second Amendment expansion; no contrary statements or votes were found. DeVon was added as a coauthor on HB 1296 on the day of the conference committee vote (Source 9).
Pro-life issues

DeVon chairs the Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee, the committee of jurisdiction for parental-rights and family-values legislation (Source 1).
