Ross Thomas is a Columbus attorney who earned a degree in political economy from Tulane University in 1992 and a law degree from Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis in 1994, and has maintained his own law practice since (Source 1). He serves as Chairman of the Bartholomew County Democratic Party (Source 2). He ran for Indiana House District 59 in 2024 as the sole Democratic primary candidate, receiving 1,066 votes, but lost to Republican Ryan Lauer in the general election (Source 1). He is affiliated with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Bar Association, the Indiana Bar Association, and is on the NAACP Legal Redress Committee for the Columbus/Bartholomew County chapter (Source 1).
